Line Cook

Brooklyn Brewery is a 650-capacity multi-floor restaurant/bar with several bars, private event rooms, and a seasonal rooftop. We anticipate running a fast, scratch-made menu and are looking for a reliable Line Cook who takes pride in consistency and works well as part of a team.

Candidates should be comfortable performing a range of tasks and duties, including but not limited to:

• Set up and break down any station, including mise en place, before and after service as directed by the Sous Chef.
• Cook and plate dishes to recipe and presentation standards during service.
• Work kitchen equipment and cross-train on other stations.
• Communicate with the expo and the rest of the line to keep tickets moving.
• Keep track of product levels and flag shortages to the Sous Chef.
• Label, date, and rotate product using FIFO.
• Responsible for any cleanness needed in the kitchen in order to keep our kitchen proudly clean, and in accordance with NYC Department of Health and beyond.
• Keep your station clean and organized throughout the shift.
• Follow NYC Department of Health food safety and sanitation standards.

Days of Operations:
Wednesday - Monday, closed Tuesdays
Variable hours and include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs

• 2 years of Line Cook experience in a high-volume or full-service kitchen.
• Strong knife skills and solid fundamental (temps, seasoning, timing).
• Ability to execute dishes quickly and consistently during a busy rush.
• Comfortable taking directions and giving clear callbacks on the line.
• Ability to work at a high-volume services and ticketed events.
• Able to stand for long shifts.
• Reliable, punctual, and calm under pressure.
• Able to work a flexible schedule across Monday through Sunday work week as needed.
• Keep positive and "how can I help the system" mentality.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

The base pay range for this full-time role is $18.00 to $22.00 per hour. Actual base pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is one component of The Brooklyn Brewery Corporation's total compensation package for employees.
