Pay Range
Pay or shift range: $15.50‑$18.00 per hour. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on skill set, experience, location and other job‑related factors. For sales positions, Buckle pays a base rate plus commission on sales; the range listed is the estimated base rate plus commission.
Position SummaryThe Sales Teammate’s primary responsibility is to create the most enjoyable shopping experience for guests. Duties include sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (cashiering, merchandise display, register procedures, routine cleaning).
Key Responsibilities Sales Generation and Guest Service- Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide legendary service
- Answer questions, recommend, and help locate merchandise based on guest needs
- Demonstrate products and share knowledge with team
- Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and policies
- Achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales, and net sales goals set by Management
- Provide service throughout front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area
- Check out and bag purchases; prepare merchandise for alterations
- Handle returns, exchanges, and special orders
- Maintain guest relationships and develop client‑based business
- Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, even if Manager absent
- Recognize recruiting opportunities through Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and Teammate Recommend
- Maintain professional attitude and positive floor culture
- Present merchandise to maximize sales and optimize turnover
- Stay current on product range and identify new product ideas
- Ensure sales floor is consistently sized and new freight displayed appropriately
- Work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Open/close cash registers, handle cash, coupons, vouchers, and balances
- Recognize security risks, prevent theft, and follow Loss Prevention guidelines
- Use POS procedures and execute payment, exchange, and loss prevention policies
- Perform merchandising tasks such as handling freight, remerchandising, displays, markdowns, and transfers
- Maintain a clean, organized, shoppable store and provide feedback to Management
- Communicate policy violations and concerns confidentially to appropriate personnel
- Apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies in daily operations
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and ExperienceNo prior experience or training required.
Physical DemandsStand, walk, use hands to handle items, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lift and maneuver up to 30 lbs. Occasionally sit. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Noise level typically moderate.
