About The TeamThe New Verticals team is building the future of local commerce through expanding our product offerings on our marketplace platform. We launched in 2020 and have since built world‑class operations to delight customers with access to Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol, and Retail delivery. The Retail Strategy & Operations team has expanded into industries such as pets, beauty, flowers, office supplies, home improvement, apparel and many more.
AboutThe Role
As we continue to scale our retail business, we’re hiring Associate Managers to support key strategic growth initiatives and expand our retail presence across multiple categories. You’ll help shape Door Dash’s retail strategy and drive growth across key categories, own category performance, launch merchandising initiatives, and lead campaigns that deliver results. You may help bring top retail partners to the platform and manage launch playbooks.
Working closely with Business Development, Product, and Operations teams, you’ll turn strategy into seamless execution, fueling the next wave of retail innovation ’ll be an individual contributor reporting into a Senior Manager in a hybrid environment.
- Strategize by mapping selection whitespace by retailer type, geography, and category to unlock product availability for our customers.
- Operate by standing up 0→1 pilots, building dashboards, managing week‑over‑week KPIs, and turning wins into scalable processes.
- Analyze by building models using Excel and SQL to evaluate expansion opportunities and prioritize the next bets.
- Build by translating sales‑cycles and GTM needs into requirements and co‑leading product feature development.
- Lead, collaborate, and influence by working with cross‑functional teams and external vendors to unlock partnerships, growth, and quality at scale.
- You have 4‑6+ years of experience in analytical, cross‑functional environments such as tech, operations, strategy, consulting, or banking.
- You are an owner, always looking for opportunities to improve work and scale learnings through playbooks and SOPs.
- You’re entrepreneurial, with a bias for action and the ability to build things from the ground up.
- You’re analytical, letting data win arguments, and you pull data in SQL and build models in Excel.
- You can operate at both high‑level strategy and detailed execution.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity, thrive in rapid change, and are scrappy in startup environments.
- You hold a completed Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the range listed below, determined by job‑related factors including skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized. In addition to base salary, compensation includes equity grant opportunities.

Paid Time Off Details- For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked; paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
