Prepared Foods Production Team Member (Deli / Culinary Prep) - Part Time at Whole Foods Market.

• Performs all functions related to preparation, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of products.
• Ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated.
• Ensure product meets WFM guidelines for quality and preparation.
• Document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms.
• Follow recipes and use correct measuring devices during production.
• Help customers understand the differences between WFM products and products at conventional stores.
• Keep walk-ins and freezers clean and well-organized.
• Arrive to work station on time, groomed, and ready to work; attend required trainings and meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service and address customer needs in a timely manner; operate phones and pages courteously.
• Maximize sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follow procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; keep equipment according to cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations.

• Thorough product knowledge.
• Ability to prepare an adequate number of recipes per shift based on batch size.
• Ability to access market information and communicate it to customers.
• Understand spoilage and waste and how it affects department profits.
• Working knowledge of merchandising expectations within the department.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to convey information clearly to Team Members, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.
• Ability to follow directions and procedures; strong time management and organization skills.

• No prior retail experience required.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
• Hand use: grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
• Exposure to temperatures: below 32°F (freezing), 32–40°F (refrigeration), above 90°F.
• Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
• May require use of ladders.

The wage range for this position is $18.00-$25.40 hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers benefits.
