MANHATTAN & UPSTATE SENIOR HOUSEKEEPER

Manhattan & Upstate, NY

Our client is seeking a full-time, experienced Senior Housekeeper to oversee their 4,000 sq. ft. single-level NYC apartment and a 6,000 sq. ft. multi-level home in Dutchess County. This individual must be able to work unsupervised and collaboratively with other traveling household staff. This role requires a service-oriented, self‑motivated, trustworthy individual who takes initiative in maintaining spaces and reports directly to the Estate Concierge.

The primary duties involve hands‑on personal support, cleaning, and skillful vendor management.

Two days per week will be spent upstate at a minimum, candidates must be comfortable driving their own car (preferred) or a rental and have a Driver's License. (Hotel accommodations provided in Upstate NY during adverse weather conditions.)

Responsibilities
  • Household Cleaning & Maintenance :
    Includes sanitizing bathrooms, polishing furniture, kitchen upkeep, and maintaining "owner‑ready" conditions at all times.
  • Laundry & Wardrobe Care :
    Handling fine materials, managing dry cleaning, laundering linens, and organizing wardrobes.
  • Organization & Inventory Management :
    Managing household inventories, organizing spaces such as closets and pantries.
  • Communication & Reporting :
    Acting as the primary contact for household operations, reporting any issues or concerns, and maintaining open lines of communication with the Estate Concierge and family members.
  • Event & Vendor Management :
    Coordinating with vendors and overseeing the execution of events, ensuring a seamless experience for the principals and their guests.
  • Security & Safety :
    Ensuring the security of the household, managing alarm systems, and overseeing the entry and activities of vendors and guests.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience :
    High school diploma or GED required; minimum five years of experience in residential housekeeping or household assistance in high‑service environments.
  • Skills :
    Proficiency in managing high‑end appliances, cleaning tools, and products; excellent communication skills; experience with project management software such as Asana preferred.
  • Personal Attributes :
    Must be warm, polished, intuitive, calm, respectful, and collaborative. Requires discretion, a superb work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Additional Information
  • Work Location :
    This full‑time role supports properties in Manhattan and Dutchess County, 90 miles apart. Live‑out position; hotel accommodations provided in Upstate NY during adverse weather conditions.
  • Compensation :
    Highly competitive, from $55 per hour + full benefits.
  • Schedule :
    Typically 8 : 00 am - 4 : 00 pm when family is in residence, with flexibility required to meet the family's needs.
