Co-Founder and CEO of Action Products Worldwide Job OverviewAction Products Worldwide is a fast-growing importer and distributor of general consumer merchandise, serving major retailers across the U.S. We are seeking aMerchandising Manager / Buyer Supportto work closely with ownership and the sales team on product selection, assortment execution, and retail account support.
This role isideal for a current or former retail buyer or assistant buyer(especially from off-price or value retail) who wants to apply their buying experience on thevendor/importer side of the business. The position offers hands‑on exposure to product strategy, pricing, vendor management, and retail execution in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
This isnot a store‑level or visual merchandising role.
Key Responsibilities- Support product selection, assortment planning, and merchandising strategy across multiple categories
- Partner with ownership and sales executives on product decisions, pricing, and customer presentations
- Prepare line sheets, assortment decks, and product presentations for retail partners
- Coordinate product samples, costing, pricing, and margin analysis
- Manage item setup, inventory tracking, and order flow using Net Suite (ERP/CRM)
- Support customer quotes, item maintenance, and follow‑ups throughout the sales cycle
- Liaise with vendors, logistics teams, and customers to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment
- Assist with trade show preparation, catalog development, and line launches
- Analyze sales performance, customer feedback, and product results to inform future assortments
- Handle ad hoc projects in support of company ownership and senior leadership
- 3+ years of experience as a
Buyer, Assistant Buyer, or Merchandising professional - Experience in
off-price, value, mass, or high‑volume retail
strongly preferred - Strong understanding of product lifecycle, costing, pricing, and margin
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow‑through
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; comfort working with ERP systems (Net Suite a plus)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
- Comfortable in a hands‑on, fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to work on‑site in New York City (hybrid flexibility after onboarding)
- Salary:$70,000 – $90,000 base (commensurate with experience)
