General Summary & ScopeThe Luxury Beauty Advisor (LBA) is responsible for maximizing sales in Luxury brands (color cosmetics, skincare, fragrance) by engaging guests, determining their needs, and assisting them in selection and purchase. All responsibilities are performed while maintaining overall store standards, including cleanliness and replenishment. The LBA represents Ulta’s image and the Luxury brands to guests, supporting the Experience Manager in performance, people, and process areas.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities Performance
- Meet or exceed Luxury brand sales and clientele goals and contribute to store sales, guest loyalty, retail shrink and omni‑channel sales as set by Ulta.
- Build business by achieving sales targets, using product services and data capture to build guest loyalty, recruit new guests, and grow guest return rate.
- Share the benefits of the Ulta Loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
- Ensure each guest receives exceptional service: greeting, engaging, personalizing, offering samples, recommending complementary products, and informing guests of promotions, events, services.
- Build, maintain, and provide superior service to every guest daily to grow a customer list for Luxury brand sales.
- Courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges.
- Have solid knowledge of Luxury brands, heritage, and share knowledge with guests and team.
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and the guest experience.
- Book appointments and support execution of services and in‑store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while meeting sales goals.
- Remain informed and participate in promotions and marketing initiatives within the brand and across all categories.
- Use the provided clientele system to obtain guest information; follow up consistently after sales or sampling to build loyalty and grow business.
- Stay informed about industry trends, products, services, ingredients, and benefits during work time.
- Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
- Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests.
- Maintain strong relationships with Luxury brand partners through required trainings and in‑store events/promotions.
- Address and resolve guest concerns per Ulta Beauty philosophy and standards.
- Collaborate with managers and associates to grow business.
- Attend seasonal seminars hosted by brand partners; participate in training to drive sales performance.
- Know and enforce Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
- Understand opportunities related to Luxury products.
- Model brand image and expectations by adhering to dress code and wearing assets.
- Drive sales by keeping work area replenished, signed, faced, ensuring testers are available and hygienically maintained.
- Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of Luxury brand area(s), sales floor, restrooms, cash wrap, backroom, and break area.
- Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory procedures, and shipment processing.
- Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service.
- Execute other operational tasks as directed.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Cosmetology or demonstrator license where required by state law.
- Cosmetics artistry experience preferred.
