Role

Curtis Lumber’s Inside Contractor Sales position is a customer-facing role which involves working directly with customers, contractors, and builders to provide materials and support for their projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Customer Engagement: Interact with potential and existing customers and contractors at the sales counter or via phone/email to understand their needs and provide solutions. Participate in preconstruction meetings and job site consultations.
  • Product Knowledge: Have a deep understanding of building materials and products to offer expert advice. Conduct material takeoffs and provide accurate quotes. Assist customers with selecting appropriate building materials for their projects.
  • Order Management: Process orders, ensure timely delivery, and manage inventory by coordinating with warehouse and delivery personnel. Communicate with outside sales representatives regarding customer orders, requirements, issues, or changes.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with contractors to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the construction or building materials industry.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

Starting pay ranges from $24 to $27 per hour, depending on experience. This is a full-time position with 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7 am - 5 pm.
