Position Summary

As Director of Sales at Richline Group, you will partner closely with the Vice President to lead and support the Account Executive team, overseeing daily sales operations and execution. This role is responsible for driving sales performance, managing and servicing key large retail accounts, and ensuring alignment with revenue and profitability goals.

Experience working with gold jewelry is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead targeted customer meetings, delivering product overviews and presentations.
  • Partner with the VP to strategize and execute marketing programs that drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with the VP on budget planning and management.
Manage Employees and Customer Satisfaction
  • Assist sales representatives and customer service representatives with solving problems related to customer complaints or daily responsibilities.
  • Develop performance goals and incentive structures for Account Executives.
  • Design and implement training procedures for Account Executives and the Sales Support team.
Meeting Preparation
  • Focus on important stories, key items, get up to the minute marketing, packaging.
  • Select product and renderings for meetings with Merchandising.
  • Extract best sellers, items to go up on replenishment, items to re-order, advertise and be knowledgeable about information, conversion to asset request.
  • Work with Sales, Merchandising and Marketing to prioritize and plan large initiatives.
Meeting Follow‑up Oversight with Your Account Executive and Sales Support Team
  • Review samples and determine pricing.
  • Approve final buyer presentations.
  • Follow up with buyers.
  • Partner with marketing on related projects.
Item Pick‑up
  • Make sure we are in compliance with any licensing guidelines (packaging, pricing, etc.).
  • Maximize all dot com opportunities.
Partner with Merchandising, Product Development & Marketing Teams
  • Coordinate lines with merchandising tailored for the customer.
  • Partner with merchants to identify and develop key item drivers for independent accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Brand Manager to develop and adapt displays and POS materials tailored to the independent market.
  • Analyze best‑selling items to identify expansion opportunities and assortment gaps.
  • Work cross‑functionally to develop customer‑specific collections.
Analysis
  • Project monthly net sales against budget targets.
  • Review monthly customer sales performance.
  • Analyze retail sell‑through results provided by analysts and follow up with buyers as needed.
  • Review memo sales performance and inventory turnover.
  • Evaluate advertising exposure and performance reports from analysts.
  • Review inventory levels and sales projections on a monthly basis.
  • Identify and designate items for sell‑down strategies.
  • Conduct sales performance reviews across major categories and brands.
Dilution
  • Review margins, returns and customer allowances.
  • Approve chargebacks from finance.
  • Visit stores and store websites—observe, make notes, report back findings.
  • Responsible for ensuring that samples are returned.
Experience & Skills
  • Strong knowledge in Retail Math.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Navision is a plus.
  • 3–5 years of industry work experience in jewelry, luxury goods or retail.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Competency in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a high pressured environment.
  • 3–5 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
