A specialist façade contractor focused on high-rise construction projects is looking to expand its presence across the New York and New Jersey markets. The business delivers façade solutions for major developments and is looking to strengthen its position within the region.

The business is seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to drive growth and secure new high-rise façade projects across New York and New Jersey.

This is a relationship-driven position suited to someone with an established network across the construction and real estate industries, including property developers, owners’ representatives, façade consultants, architects and general contractors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying upcoming developments, building relationships with key decision-makers and positioning the business to secure major façade and building envelope contracts.

• Develop and execute a business development strategy focused on high-rise construction projects across New York and New Jersey.
• Leverage existing relationships with developers, owners’ representatives, architects, façade consultants and general contractors to generate new business opportunities.
• Identify upcoming high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality and mixed-use developments at the planning, design and pre-construction stages.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers to secure invitations to bid and opportunities to win façade packages.
• Represent the business at industry events, networking functions and client meetings.
• Work closely with estimating, pre-construction and operations teams to develop competitive proposals and secure project awards.
• Monitor market activity, competitor movements and upcoming developments to identify new opportunities.
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective projects, tracking opportunities from initial contact through to contract award.
• Develop long-term client partnerships to encourage repeat business and sustained company growth.
• Report on business development activity, pipeline performance and project acquisition opportunities.

• Proven experience in business development, sales or commercial leadership within the façade, curtain wall, architectural glazing, cladding or wider building envelope sector.
• An established network of contacts across the New York and New Jersey construction and real estate markets.
• Strong relationships with property developers, owners’ representatives, façade consultants, architects and general contractors.
• A demonstrable track record of generating new business and securing large-scale construction projects.
• Experience working on high-rise residential, commercial or mixed-use developments.
• A strong understanding of the construction process, including design development, pre-construction, bidding and contract awards.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• A commercially driven mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and convert relationships into revenue.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating with internal estimating, pre-construction and operations teams.
