Sales Development Rep/SDR, B2B Sales, Inside Sales
At Sales Edge Solutions, a Business Development Representative doesn't just feed the pipeline — they own it. Based in New York, NY, this full-time role places you at the front door of revenue: finding the right prospects across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, running real discovery on the first call, and booking qualified meetings directly onto Account Executives' calendars. Posted on October 13, 2026, the position offers a fast ramp — you'll be booking real meetings within your first few weeks — and a defined path from BDR to Account Executive for those who perform.
The Role at Sales Edge SolutionsList-building and data enrichment are handled upstream, so your time goes where it matters most: dialing, qualifying, and booking. You'll run a proven cold-open playbook, qualify hard before you book, and hand off clean, well-documented meetings that set the AE up to win. Over time, you'll ramp on a shared foundation covering every segment the company sells into, then go deep on one — mechanical, electrical, or distribution.
No prior trade background is required; you'll build real fluency in how commercial HVAC, electrical, and plumbing shops actually operate.
- Find, qualify, and book: Work a pre-built, enriched calling queue and run genuine discovery on the first call instead of reciting a scripted pitch.
- Book meetings directly: Schedule qualified conversations onto AE calendars with clean handoff notes so the AE walks in already oriented.
- Log outcomes accurately: Every disposition you record feeds the pipeline directly and becomes a live signal into the product roadmap.
- Re-engage "not now" leads: Turn a soft no into a real re-engagement opportunity instead of writing it off as dead.
- Own your number: Carry a monthly qualified-meeting quota that ramps over your first few months, working inside one live dialer as your system of record — no side spreadsheets, no manual pipeline upkeep.
You’ll also receive weekly coaching on your actual calls, covering openers, objection handling, and qualification discipline.
What They’re Looking For- Cold-calling experience: Real outbound experience in any industry; comfortable with high call volume and frequent rejection.
- Resilient and curious: Doesn't fold at the first brush-off; stays genuinely curious about what's actually going on with a prospect.
- Coachable: Takes direct, specific feedback on call technique and applies it immediately.
- Early-stage comfort: Scrappy, creative, and fast in environments where things move quickly.
- Strong verbal communication: Builds rapport and credibility fast with a skeptical, operator-led buyer.
Strong pluses that shorten your ramp include prior BDR or SDR experience at a B2B SaaS or workflow-software company, familiarity with the HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or adjacent trades segments, experience with a modern dialer such as Nooks or Hub Spot, or a background in construction that transitioned into sales or construction-tech.
Compensation and Benefits- Salary: Competitive base of $60,000–$80,000 plus commission, with OTE reaching $120,000–$140,000. A per-meeting bonus and a ramp-period bonus in your first month are also included.
- Equity: Meaningful grant, aligned with your background.
- Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Perks: Free lunches and dinners.
This is a full-time, onsite role in NYC's Flatiron District, steps from Madison Square Park and Union Square. The Final date to receive applications is December 13, 2026.
Tips for Outbound Sales Candidates- Quantify your outreach metrics: Highlight daily call volumes, connect rates, and meetings booked per week — sales managers want numbers, not adjectives.
- Showcase dialer fluency: If you've used platforms like Nooks, Hub Spot, or similar tools, name them explicitly and describe how you managed dispositions and follow-up cadences.
- Demonstrate trade adjacency: Even a summer in construction or time with an electrical contractor gives you credibility with operator-led buyers — mention it prominently.
- Prepare a live cold-call mock: Many BDR interviews include a role-play scenario; practice handling objections like "we're happy with our current provider" with specific, curiosity-driven follow-up questions.
If you thrive on momentum, love the phone, and want a real path to closing deals, this seat was built for you.
