Piper | Poet Gallery is seeking a motivated and highly organized Sales Consultant/Gallery Assistant.

The gallery’s program includes secondary-market works by artists who defined Post-War and Contemporary art, including Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, alongside a roster of important mid-career and emerging artists working today.

We are seeking a proactive, creative, and detail-oriented individual to work closely with the Gallery Director. This multifaceted position combines two key roles - Sales Consultant and Gallery Assistant - offering the opportunity to contribute to client relations, art sales, gallery administration, and day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate for the Sales Consultant role will be client-focused with strong communication, relationship-building, and sales skills. They will be skilled at identifying customer needs, providing tailored recommendations, and building lasting client relationships,Gallery Assistant responsibilities include gallery administration, maintaining and updating artwork inventory and online sales platforms, assisting in creating digital and marketing content, and supporting exhibitions and other gallery projects.

The ideal candidate will have previous gallery experience or a similar role in the art-world and an understanding of the day-to-day operations of a contemporary art gallery. Strong administrative and organizational skills are essential. Candidates must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to be discerning with clients. The position also requires the ability to handle artworks carefully and safely, including light art handling.

This is a full-time, in-person position requiring a five-day work week, including both Saturday and Sunday. As Piper | Poet Gallery continues to grow, this role offers significant opportunities to develop expertise in art sales, client relations, exhibition support, digital marketing, and gallery management.
