About Power-Flo Technologies

Since 1929, Power-Flo Technologies has served New York, New Jersey and New England as a family of companies: electrical and plumbing distributors, fabricators, manufacturers, and motor and pump repair specialists. With 13 locations, millions of dollars in inventory, and more than 2 million products, PFT supports contractors, professional engineers, facilities managers, educational institutions, hospitals, government agencies, multifamily owners, and industrial and OEM customers.

Our people are technical experts, not order-takers, and our offering spans electrical supplies, industrial automation and robotics, in-house switch gear and motor control fabrication, engineering support, energy-efficient lighting, building energy management, and pump and motor repair from fractional through 1500 HP.

Position Summary

The Director of Sales is a senior leader responsible for the sales strategy and performance of all 13 PFT branches. This person will champion expansion efforts and drive business development across our supplies, services, and solutions. The Director drives actionable sales initiatives and serves as the key link to achieving the company’s growth goals.

  • Lead, coach, and develop and build a high-performance, technically knowledgeable sales culture.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top sales talent; manage performance and succession planning.
  • Standardize sales processes, pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting across branches while respecting local market needs.

Account Assignment & Territory Management

  • Design and manage account assignment and territory structures that maximize coverage, customer service, and growth.
  • Assign and rebalance house, key, and strategic accounts across branches and sales reps; resolve account ownership and territory conflicts fairly and promptly.
  • Ensure key accounts receive executive-level attention and that account plans are in place for top customers.

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new customers, markets, and verticals, including industrial/OEM, healthcare, education, government, multifamily, and contractors.
  • Grow cross-selling across PFT's family of companies, connecting supplies with automation, robotics, switch gear and panel fabrication, motor controls, lighting and energy projects, building management, and repair services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and strategic partners to support line card growth, pricing, and joint selling.
  • Represent PFT at trade shows, training events, and industry associations, and support events such as automation training and table top shows.

Performance, Pricing & Operations

  • Partner with purchasing, operations, engineering, and finance to align inventory, pricing, and delivery with customer demand.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to guide decisions and report to executive leadership.
  • Drive adoption of sales tools.
  • Meet with Sales Leads to review pipeline and goals.
  • Promote customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, and responsiveness in emergency situations.
