Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Coordinator.
In this role, the successful candidate's responsibilities will be split among two efforts:
1. Responsible for providing moderate to advanced range of coordination of research conducted in the Transplant Ethics and Policy Research program of the Division of Medical Ethics at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, specifically the Working Group on the Ethical Imperative to Replace Nonhuman Primate Testing with Alternative Research Models. This will include managing and contributing to literature review, assisting with writing and editing for publication, interfacing with working group members and funding agencies, and project coordination activities including scheduling working group meetings.
Individual will work under general direction of the Principal Investigators, Brendan Parent, JD and Tamar Schiff, MD.
2. Responsible for supporting research assistance on several qualitative (interview-based) research projects led by Lauren Taylor, PhD. Project topics include: use of behavioral nudges in routine vaccination at federally qualified health centers, role of municipal debt financing in hospital management and expectations of academic researchers in low-income communities. For all three projects, tasks include prospective interviewee recruitment, scheduling, interviewing, coordination of payment, coordination of transcription, data analysis and manuscript drafting.
Individual will work under direct supervision of Dr. Taylor.
Job Responsibilities:
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field.
Minimum of two years of progressively responsible project coordination experience, preferably in a research setting.
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
Effective oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
