Fire Safety Director (Day Shift) – Bronx, NYJob Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $29.00/hour
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
- Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Option to work one Saturday and have the following Saturday off
The Fire Life & Safety Director (FLSD) will oversee building safety operations and ensure compliance with all FDNY regulations and internal emergency procedures. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and leadership in managing building emergencies and fire life safety systems.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary Fire Life & Safety Director, ensuring compliance with FDNY codes and regulations.
- Conduct inspections of post areas, equipment, and CCTV systems for operational readiness.
- Review daily memos, alerts, and security notifications to stay informed on current conditions.
- Monitor access control systems to ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
- Respond immediately to fire alarms, emergencies, and other incidents; coordinate emergency response.
- Maintain integrity of safety and security alerts, daily reports, and activity documentation.
- Enforce guest access and visitor policies in accordance with building and residential protocols.
- Communicate effectively with Operations Desk and management regarding any deficiencies or incidents.
- Remain alert and professional at all times while on post.
- Valid NYS Fire Life & Safety Director (F-89 or equivalent) certification required
- Valid NYS Security Guard License
- Minimum 1 year of fire life safety or building security experience
- Strong emergency response, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
