Global Safety & Security Senior Manager - NYC

New York, New York, USA

The Global Safety & Security Team falls under the Operations Division that runs many day-to-day operational functions that help keep our employees safe, happy and productive. We work closely with leadership and employees to ensure that Datadog continues to scale rapidly, yet smoothly, and remains a fantastic place to work.

We’re seeking an experienced team member to join our growing global team and play a critical role in keeping Datadogs and its assets safe and secure. You will work directly with the Head of Global Safety & Security and cross-functional teams to support safety and security operations across the enterprise. Ideal candidates will be passionate about leadership, security operations, building programs, workplace health and safety, project management, customer service, and collaboration.

This position is based in our NYC office and will require domestic and international travel. The role will focus particularly on developing our protective services, headquarters security, incident and crisis management programs.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage day-to-day global safety and security operations for Datadog’s regional offices in AMER, including its global HQ in NYC and assist with global safety and security initiatives.
  • Oversee a variety of responsibilities, including investigations, health and safety compliance, security risk management, travel safety, event security, budgeting, crisis management, emergency response, property loss management, and global safety and security system management. Enforce Datadog’s security policies and regulations regionally.
  • Document and disseminate security protocols under the guidance of the Head of Global Safety and Security. Develop enterprise-wide access control standards, policies, technical security solutions, safety protocols, emergency preparedness training, and liaise with local law enforcement in individual offices.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including Office Operations, Real Estate, IT, Legal, Executive Assistants, Events and People teams. Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment on global safety and security initiatives, and ensure all teams are trained on emergency plans and incident response protocols.
  • Execute daily operations and strategic initiatives for workplace safety and security, contract security personnel management, and response to incidents in Datadog offices.
  • Identify long-term needs in terms of organizational structure, policies/procedures, and capital enhancements. Develop strategic plans to obtain executive approval, define objectives, secure resources, and execute key milestones.
  • Provide assessments and briefings to leadership, ensuring understanding of corrective actions, their impact, and urgency.
  • Facilitate tabletop exercises for regional offices focused on emergency preparedness, crisis management, and resilience.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced in managing safety and security operations, ideally within a fast-paced technology environment, with a focus on developing security and safety programs and incident response plans.
  • Skilled in managing all aspects of a physical security program, including but not limited to Executive Protection, Event Security, and Travel Security.
  • Experienced in building and growing regional and global safety and security programs to scale with organizational needs.
  • Knowledgeable about global technical security monitoring systems, with experience reviewing architectural plans and planning physical security design.
  • Familiarity with enterprise physical security risk management principles, including conducting security and safety risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey security information across all levels of the organization with specific focus to executives.
  • Strong vendor management…
