The role

We are building a founding partner bench and are looking for a fractional compliance lead to own DDQ readiness and governance across the platform. The seat builds the policies, oversight, and operating discipline that sophisticated LPs expect, without slowing down deal execution.

This is not a salaried role today. The engagement starts performance‑based, paid from closes and outcomes. For the right fit, it can transition to a monthly retainer after the first close, or once workload becomes recurrent.

Responsibilities
  • Own DDQ readiness and ongoing diligence responses, including policy documentation and evidence collection
  • Build and maintain the governance stack, code of ethics, conflicts process, gifts and entertainment, personal trading, MNPI, communications approvals, record retention
  • Coordinate AML and KYC workflow and investor onboarding processes, in partnership with counsel and fund admin
  • Partner with cybersecurity vendors to ensure policies and controls are aligned, access control, incident response, vendor oversight
  • Implement vendor due diligence workflows and basic risk management cadence
  • Review marketing and investor communications for consistency and compliance, as appropriate for the platform structure
  • Maintain a compliance calendar and ensure key items are completed on time

Compensation and structure

This engagement starts performance‑based and paid from closes and platform outcomes. There is no salary in the initial phase.

Close based economics

Paid from sponsor or transaction fees we control, per deal, for active contributions documented in writing before work begins.

Outcome based upside

Path to deal carry participation for transactions you materially support, where applicable; path to founding membership equity in the platform for the right fit, earned only after measurable milestones, with standard vesting.

Retainer path

For the right fit, we can transition to a monthly retainer after the first close, or once workload and cadence become recurrent, while maintaining performance upside.

Time commitment

Fractional, expected 3 to 8 hours per week to start, flexing higher during DDQ cycles, closes, or policy buildouts.

Non‑exclusive is fine, as long as responsiveness and delivery standards are met.

Ideal profile
  • Experience in compliance, governance, risk, or operations at a private equity, private credit, venture, or alternative investment platform
  • Strong DDQ experience and comfort building policies from scratch in a founder‑led environment
  • Working knowledge of AML and KYC workflows, vendor oversight, record retention, and communications controls
  • Clear communicator, high responsiveness, calm under pressure
  • You are practical and know how to be institutional without creating bureaucracy
  • Experience coordinating cybersecurity programs and vendor risk management
  • Experience with institutional LP diligence and ongoing reporting expectations
