Job Description
As a Security Officer - Utilities Entry Access in New York, NY
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. You will play a key role in access control at a utilities location. Your responsibilities include monitoring entry points, conducting routine patrols, and remaining highly visible to help deter security‑related incidents. You will also provide excellent customer service and clear communication while upholding our values of agility, reliability, and teamwork in a people‑first environment.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel and visitors.
• Observe and report any suspicious activities or security‑related incidents within the facility and perimeter.
• Provide customer service by assisting employees, contractors, and visitors with access‑related inquiries and procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following site‑specific protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and/or activities.
• Follow site‑specific policies and procedures established for the utility environment.
• Support emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal and client protocols.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
• A valid TSA issued TWIC is required.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
