As a Security Professional - Government Site Patrol - Afternoon Shift in New York, NY
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. This part-time security officer role offers flexible scheduling through our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on your availability, giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you while gaining site experience across various industries.
You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and help deter security-related incidents. Your presence and customer service will contribute to a welcoming environment for all visitors. This post requires driving responsibilities to support security-related operations across the site. Position Type: Part Time
Pay Rate: $18.02 / Hour
Job Schedule:
- Thursday 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Friday 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the assigned location and perimeter to deter potential issues and observe unusual activity.
- Monitor and report suspicious behavior, hazards, or maintenance concerns encountered during patrols.
- Communicate professionally with the public and local authorities while upholding Allied Universal standards.
- Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding daily activities and/or incidents that occur during shifts.
- Assist with access control and visitor management to support site-specific requirements.
- Remain alert to changes in the environment and adjust patrol routes as necessary to address unique site aspects.
- A minimum of one year of security-related experience is required.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Proof of a high school diploma or General Education Diploma is required by the client.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
