• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the shelter location and its perimeter to help deter unwanted activity and/or unauthorized access.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help deter disturbances and/or potential threats.
• Communicate professionally with staff, residents, and visitors while upholding Allied Universal standards.
• Document incidents and activities according to site and Allied Universal protocols.
• Support shelter operations by assisting in security‑related matters as directed by site leadership.

• Have at least 5 years of security‑related experience.
• Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security‑related experience or possess a college degree.
• Have a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Have an armed guard card or armed guard license.
• Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or at least 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience or at least 3 years of security‑related experience.
• Have at least 6 months of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience or possess a college degree.
• Have supervisory experience.
• Possess a corrections officer license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
