Doyle Security Services, Inc. (DSS) is seeking an experienced Security Officer in the Brooklyn area for a Charter School.

PAY RATE: $18.50 - $19.00 per hour

SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday

JOB SUMMARY: Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities. Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises. Work requires the ability to stand for the majority of workday.

• Provide a safe secure environment for students, staff and guests inside the school.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with parents, students, staff and community members.
• Prior School experience preferred.
• Ensure safety and efficient reporting:
• Monitor hallways, stairwells, toilet facilities, outside facilities, and other public and unsupervised places of the school to ensure the safety and well‑being of students and staff and the security of the facility.
• Assist with fire drills, crises and other emergency building evacuations and situations.

• Assist administrators and staff in crisis and emergency situations.
• Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assisting students with on‑time arrival to class and to assigned locations.
• Supervise and direct student movement during arrival and dismissal.
• Update security records, logs, and reports.
• Ensure all doors and gates are locked and that all alarms are engaged at designated times.
• Assist staff and emergency personnel in handling emergencies and deescalating disruptive situations that may arise on campus.
• Assist in daily operational duties as needed.

PREFERRED:

• School security experience a Plus
• CPR Certification

REQUIREMENTS:

• S-95 & F-07 Required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid NYS Security Guard License
• 3+ years of experience in Security Industry
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must have exceptional Customer Service Skills
• Must be able to verbally de‑escalate situations
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to understand the English language and communicate it effectively in both the verbal and written form
