Position Overview A2A Security is hiring a certified Fire & Life Safety Director (FLSD) to oversee fire and life safety operations at a commercial property in Queens, NY (11434). You will be the on-site authority for the building's fire safety plan during the evening shift, keeping occupants, staff and visitors safe and the property compliant with FDNY requirements.
Schedule
* Shift: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
* Full-time and part-time positions available
* Weekend availability is required
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the designated Fire & Life Safety Director in accordance with the building's FDNY-approved fire safety and emergency action plans.
* Monitor and operate the fire alarm command station / Fire Command Center, and respond immediately to alarms, supervisory and trouble signals.
* Direct building occupants and fire wardens during fire drills, evacuations, shelter-in-place and other emergencies.
* Meet and brief FDNY responders on arrival, providing building information, floor plans and system status.
* Conduct fire safety tours, check exits, stairwells, extinguishers and fire protection equipment, and report deficiencies.
* Keep accurate fire safety logbooks, drill records and incident reports as required by FDNY.
* Support general security duties, including access control, patrols and customer service.
Qualifications
* Valid FDNY T-89 or F-89 Certificate of Fitness (Fire & Life Safety Director) - required.
* Valid New York State security guard license - required.
* Prior FLSD, fire safety or building security experience preferred.
* Calm, decisive and clear communicator under pressure.
* Strong report-writing skills and attention to detail.
* Must be available evenings and weekends.
Pay & Benefits* $23.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience and certification.
