Field Service Technician

Powerwell is a leading recruitment firm helping our clients discover top talent. We are recruiting for a Field Service Technician. Our client will provide a company vehicle with an EZ Pass. Any travel expenditures outside our client's provided vehicle and/or EZ Pass will be promptly reimbursed to the employee. Regular travel with the use of the company provided vehicle would be required at multiple facilities, located in Bethpage, Brooklyn, Lawrence, and Queens.

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site maintenance and repair services for conveyor systems. This role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, as well as using hand and power tools to resolve mechanical problems. The position requires 100% local travel to client sites in Bethpage, NY, so candidates must be based within a commutable distance.

This is an hourly position, with pay ranging from $29.00 to $38.00 per hour based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain conveyor belts and related systems.
• Replace and align power and idler rollers, pulleys, bearings, gearboxes, motors, and sprockets.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems, including electrical component replacement.
• Troubleshoot and install motor starters, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
• Conduct and document system audits, ensuring proper functionality of conveyor belts, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Evaluate safety equipment to ensure proper installation and operation.
• Maintain and submit timely reports on audits, repairs, and parts.
• Advise customers on potential upgrades or new parts.
• Ensure company vehicles and tools are properly maintained.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.
• Prior experience with industrial equipment maintenance, particularly conveyor systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience, including VFD configuration and sensor replacement.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible or irregular hours as needed.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and adhere to safety standards (OSHA, industry, and company-specific).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Millwright experience, including welding and fabrication.
• PLC coding experience is a plus.
