Plant Maintenance Technician

Plant Maintenance Technician – Gardiner, NY
SP Industries Inc., an ATS Company, is expanding our team in Gardiner, NY and currently has an opening for a Plant Maintenance Technician.
Responsibilities- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment.
- Respond to emergency unscheduled calls for maintenance and repairs.
- Apply mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC skills.
- Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors; coordinate all contractor work.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Complete administrative duties such as filling out forms and reporting statuses to supervisor, local town and state officials, SP and ATS corporate.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and plan repairs and improvements accordingly.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Develop and maintain a budget for projected capital expenditures for a 3‑year period.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, carpentry, electrical wiring.
- Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Appropriate hand‑and‑eye coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and other manuals and documents.
Pay rate: $25–$35 per hour.

Employees are responsible for compliance with divisional HSE procedures, including lock‑out/tag‑out, appropriate use of protective equipment, reporting unsafe conditions and equipment defects, attending required training, and assisting in accident investigations.
