Job SummaryTo provide exceptional mechanical support for our Fleet of assets; heavy vehicles and heavy equipment. Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment; such as excavators, skid steers, graders, and conveyors, used in construction, paving and milling roadways.
Responsibilities- Adjust and maintain heavy machinery, using control and regulating devices.
- Operate, overhaul, dismantle, reassemble and test heavy vehicles and machinery to ensure operation efficiency.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges, repair and replace damaged or worn parts, fabricate needed parts or items.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service records.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles, donning PPE.
- Assemble gear systems, and align frames and gears, using hoists and hand tools.
- Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent, donning PPE.
- Contributes in the research, ordering and maintenance of parts inventory for services and repairs.
- Actively contribute to Safe Work behaviors, complying with required PPE and safeguards.
- Maintain safety standards by employing appropriate safeguards such as lifts, jack stands etc. when working on equipment.
- Maintain accurate data, while upholding the company confidentiality practices.
- Additional tasks as assigned, act as a point of contact as applicable.
- Read, understand and interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in heavy machine repair and maintenance, required.
- Attention to detail, thorough and ensure proper functionality, securing safety at top of mind.
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft office suite (word, excel, outlook) and job-related software.
- Must have physical strength, good vision, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds.
- Must be able to work some Saturdays and at night, when needed.
Pay varies by experience $16.50-$35/hour + OT
