Utilities Service Worker I/II/III (Wastewater)
Join the City of Zephyrhills workforce as a Utilities Service Worker in wastewater treatment and sewer collection systems. This full‑time, entry‑level position is located at the City Wastewater Facility.
Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment (backhoe, trencher, front loader, boring machine) for construction, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection systems.
- Perform inspections and repairs of lift stations and related equipment.
- Complete general maintenance duties and additional assignments as directed.
- Respond to emergency call‑outs and work overtime, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call standby.
- High school diploma or GED.
- State of Florida Class C Wastewater Collections Technician certification (or obtain within 18 months). For USW III, Class C or higher, FDEP Class 3 Distribution license, and three years’ experience required.
- State of Florida Class C Wastewater Technician (or higher) certification within 18 months for USW II/III.
- Knowledge of work zone safety requirements.
- Class B CDL with air brake endorsement (or obtain within 6 months).
Base salary range: $32,760.00 – $48,864.00 annual (utilities service worker I). Salary increases with experience. City of Zephyrhills offers medical, dental, life insurance, and Florida Retirement System (FRS).

- Valid Florida driver license.
- Physical exertion required.
