Responsible for the maintenance, operation and repair of electrical equipment. The employee will also work on mechanical, refrigeration, HVAC, and general building repair as needed.
Minimum Qualifications- Four years of full‑time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson, providing training equivalent to that in a training, apprenticeship, or similar program, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
- Obtain a Class B permit issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle within 30 days of appointment and maintain the license during employment.
- Preferred experience under a journeyman electrician or apprenticeship training in the electrical trade.
- Preferred experience in recognized skilled trades such as plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
This is a Unit 1 Teamsters position. The NYS Thruway Authority offers an extensive benefits package, including paid time off, sick leave incentive, membership to the NYS Retirement System, and 90% tuition assistance.
