Position Summary

Under direct supervision, provides maintenance, troubleshooting and repair services on architectural finishes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides stakeholders with status updates, issues, key activities and any changes to the scope of the overall project.
  • Documents and provides updates on work performed.
  • Develops scope of work for projects and identifies material and labor required; obtains material pricing from vendors.
  • Paints interior and exterior surfaces of the facility; installs and repairs wallpaper coverings.
  • Patches plaster, sheetrock, masonry, metal and wood surfaces.
  • Inspects the condition of architectural systems and finishes; assists in identifying areas needing refinishing work; makes recommendations of colors and finish materials.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED
Experience

Approximately 2 years of experience in painting, plastering and masonry.

If the role requires use of a WCM vehicle for business purposes, must have a valid New York State driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

Position requires working in a non-office environment with continuous exposure to noise, dust, heat, fumes, and other elements. Periodic work in animal research areas, machine rooms, crawl spaces, and other restricted areas may occur. Frequent use of ladders, hand and power tools, wrenches, and valve operations are required. The role involves walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying objects up to 100 pounds.
