Laborer at Mega Contracting Group – Full‑time, on‑call, and weekend positions located in NYC (Astoria area). The role reports to the Labor Foreman/Construction Superintendent.

Location:

Within NYC.

• Move, secure, install, build, load or unload materials as directed.
• Clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials to eliminate hazards.
• Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure the site each day.
• Lift heavy loads up to 75 lbs and navigate through construction site.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Perform material handling and storage tasks.
• Provide general labor support.
• Dig pits, trenches and foundations in preparation for job site.
• Back‑fill trenches and pits when necessary.
• Direct traffic when necessary to ensure safety of pedestrians, motorists and work crew.
• Apply knowledge of power tools and their uses.

• 40‑hour Site Safety Training (SST) card.
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an effective team.
• Attention to detail.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Physically able to perform heavy construction work.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Must stand for long periods and lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
