Overview
Fire Alarm Technician - Tester & Inspector role at High Rise Fire and Security/Scutum Group. Eligible for base pay range of $21.00/hr - $28.00/hr, dependent on skills and experience. Located in New York City Metro Area with opportunities for growth within the organization.
Responsibilities- Conduct visual inspections for wear and tear on all fire alarm devices, including fire alarm control panels, batteries, data gathering panels (DGPs), notification appliances, initiating devices, and remote annunciators.
- Perform testing and response on all applicable fire alarm devices and mechanical testing as per NYC, NFPA, and HRFS requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; some trade school certification (6 months to 2 years)
- 1-2 years of relevant Fire Alarm or other technical work experience
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems and operation
- Understanding and application of NYC Building Codes and NFPA fire alarm codes
- Knowledge of fire alarm products; EST products preferred
- Proper use of hand tools (meter, toner, etc.)
- Understanding of basic electronics theories and principles (Ohm’s Law, AC/DC)
- Ability to demonstrate safe use of ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and related equipment
- Acceptable report writing procedures and strong verbal/written communication skills
- Understanding of all company policies and procedures
