Building Maintenance Technician

Eastern Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a quality Building Maintenance Technician to assist with keeping our clients' properties running smoothly by providing exceptional general maintenance and custodial services wherever needed, from beautifully kept shared spaces to well-maintained spaces. This position performs the preventive and corrective actions needed to maintain the building structure and critical systems, vehicles and equipment, grounds, parking garage and lots in order to provide a safe, attractive, environmentally controlled facility for guests, staff and collections.

This position requires technical skills and problem solving, as well as the ability to operate independent of supervision.

• Perform maintenance and repair for commercial and retail buildings.
• Performs semi-skilled trades work in a variety of trades areas for construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment; including welding, carpentry, masonry, mechanical maintenance, minor electrical, minor plumbing, minor refrigeration and air conditioning, and painting, etc.
• Provide preventive maintenance (PM) and emergency repairs if necessary.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, appliances, HVAC equipment (if applicable), and perform interior repairs, painting, etc.
• Assists independent contractors with services in the building and other departments with projects as needed.
• Works as a member of a team and take initiative to work independently as needed.

• 2 years' experience in building trades or building maintenance required.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc. required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license, good driving record
• Ability to perform numerous physical activities that require considerable use of your hands, arms and legs and moving your whole body, including prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, sweeping, stooping, kneeling, shoveling, crouching, lifting and handling of materials. Frequent lifting, grasping and carrying materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
• 2 years' experience in the proper and safe use of a wide variety of hand and power tools required.

The estimated hourly salary for this position is $16-$20 per hour, though a candidate's salary will be determined based on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience.
