Installer, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor, Installation Technician

Skylight Signs Inc. designs, manufactures, installs, and services indoor and outdoor commercial signage for a wide range of businesses and institutions. The company manages the full project lifecycle, including coordinating and obtaining all necessary landlord and municipal permits. Skylight Signs uses the latest signage technology, such as low-voltage LED lighting, helping customers reduce energy costs and ongoing service needs, and also provides electronic message centers with dynamic text, images, and messaging.

With deep experience in both modern and older signage technologies, the company can deliver new installations as well as service existing signs. The Installer role is a full-time remote position responsible for the safe and professional installation of indoor and outdoor commercial signage at customer locations. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing installation plans and drawings, preparing tools and materials, traveling to job sites, and mounting, wiring, and securing signs according to specifications and safety standards. The Installer coordinates with project managers and customers on scheduling, access, and permit requirements, and documents completed work with photos and reports.

The role also involves basic troubleshooting of installed signs, assisting with service calls, and following company procedures for quality, safety, and compliance. While the role is remote, regular on-site work at customer locations is required within the assigned territory.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with basic hand and power tools, hardware, and installation techniques.
• Familiarity with electrical components and low-voltage systems (e.g., LED lighting) and ability to follow wiring diagrams safely.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, measurements, and installation instructions with attention to detail.
• Comfort working at heights on ladders, lifts, or scaffolding and adherence to all safety procedures and regulations.
• Effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients, landlords, and site contacts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve installation or service issues on-site.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel regularly to customer locations.
• Prior experience in sign installation, construction, facilities, or a related trade is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and complete jobs within deadlines.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or trade training is a plus.
