The Lineman plays a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power systems. This position requires a skilled individual who is comfortable working with both low and high voltage systems. The Line person will work in various environments, utilizing a range of tools and equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical lines.
Duties- Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
- Operate bucket truck.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform tasks related to line construction and maintenance.
- Conduct inspections of electrical lines using voltmeters to ensure proper functionality.
- Work with both low voltage and high voltage systems, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
- Respond promptly to outages or emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to electrical work.
- Experience operating bucket trucks.
- Familiarity with low voltage and high voltage systems is essential.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Valid driver's license; additional certifications related to electrical work are a plus.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights as required by job duties.
- Previous experience in a similar role; willingness to learn is essential.
