MGA Research is an engineering services company with over 40 years of experience providing testing services and test equipment for global customers, including major automotive and aerospace companies along with their suppliers, to bolster safety and innovation within these industries. Our Fabrication Center in Akron, New York designs and builds test equipment such as static and dynamic safety systems, sled and crash facilities, environmental chambers, and pyroshock test systems.

We are currently seeking career-oriented and motivated individuals to join our team as a full-time Fabricator.

• Fabrication of test equipment and test fixtures from drawings consisting of weldments, assemblies, linear guides, bearings, motors, and gearboxes
• Read blueprints and designs to construct equipment
• Document and verify dimensional checks of the fixtures using CMM or other measurement tools to ensure precision and accuracy
• Assist with equipment installation

• Authorized to work in the United States
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for 8 hours
• Experience in MIG and TIG welding, with the ability to weld steel and aluminum
• Experience using hand tools and power tools such as bandsaws, grinders, drills
• Experience with general computer applications such as Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn and operate lift equipment
• Ability independently start and execute tasks
• Keen attention to detail, coupled with a strong ability to identify errors

• 3-5 years of experience
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and constantly changing environment

• Ability to think outside the box to improve daily processes
• Ability to be proactive and seek out opportunities
• Clean and organized worker to facilitate shop cleanliness and safety standards
