Position

Description:

Are you looking for a seasonal role where you can stay active, work outdoors, travel, and be part of a team that makes a real difference when winter weather hits? At JMC, our work goes beyond clearing snow—we remove dangerous snow and ice buildup from the tops of tractor-trailers before those trailers return to the road, using ladders, snow shovels, and specialized safety equipment to help reduce the risk of snow and ice coming off moving trailers and creating hazards for other motorists.

As a Supporting Technician, you’ll be part of a mobile team that travels throughout JMC’s service area based on where winter weather creates the need. You’ll travel with a Lead Technician to customer locations throughout our service area. In most cases, your Lead Technician will pick you up directly from your home in a company service vehicle, and you’ll travel as the passenger while the Lead Technician handles the driving.

From there, you’ll travel together to the locations where your team is needed based on storm activity and operational needs.

While home pickup in a company service vehicle is the typical arrangement, there may be times when operational needs require you to meet your team at another location. In those situations, you may be asked to drive your personal vehicle to a designated meeting point or travel by bus to connect with your team. Flexibility is important, as winter weather is constantly changing and the work may take you to different locations throughout our service area.

During larger snow events, travel may extend throughout our service area across 14 Northeastern states.

Working in teams typically consisting of 1–3 technicians, you’ll take an active role in each service, with team members rotating responsibilities throughout the job. This includes accessing trailer tops, removing accumulated snow and ice, assisting teammates from the ground, preparing and handling equipment, and helping maintain a safe and efficient work area.

Supporting Technicians work closely with their Lead Technician and other team members to follow JMC’s established procedures and safety standards at every location. You’ll also help ensure completed services are accurately documented through our digital platform, providing consistency and accountability across each job.

This is a weather-dependent, physically demanding position where teamwork, flexibility, communication, and attention to safety are essential. If you're dependable, comfortable working…
