Overview

Hope For Youth's Residential Services Department provides community based, trauma informed, youth and family driven care to adolescents and young adults in Nassau and Suffolk County. Serving youth from varying points of entry with the child welfare system, juvenile justice system, and runaway and homeless youth/young adults, opportunities to alter the trajectory for youth in need are abundant. Youth are supported 24/7 by a team of multi-disciplinary professionals, paraprofessionals, and agency administration that consistently meets standards for accreditation and licensing regulations.

Position:
Residential Caseworker – Adolescent Diagnostic and Respite Services

Location:

Amityville, NY

Base pay range: $26.92/hr - $27.75/hr

• Function within the agency policy and procedures as outlined in the program practice guide and employee manual.
• Obtain necessary documentation to prepare psychosocial assessments and final reviews.
• Prepare case updates and psychosocial assessments; conduct home visits; perform parent and youth interviews.
• Supervise and document family visits; write progress notes.
• Prepare incident reports and notifications, as needed.
• Support the overall functioning of the program and residents from a trauma-informed perspective.
• Perform other duties to meet the needs and requirements of clients, the program, Hope For Youth, oversight agency and regulatory obligations.

• Directly supporting youth in program and community settings.
• Writing, documentation and case management.
• Team meetings, committees, and supervision.
• Ongoing training and professional development.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field.
• Valid NYS Driver's License (ability to safely operate a 7-passenger agency vehicle).
• Strong writing and time management skills.
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
• 1+ year experience working with at-risk youth preferred.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules when needed.

Ability to complete reports and logs, sit/stand for long periods, climb stairs, and drive regularly for work.

This opportunity is being offered as Full-Time 35 hrs/week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with flexible late days. All candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
