Overview

Make a real difference every day! ARC of the Treasure Coast is seeking a compassionate and motivated Employment Consultant (Job Coach) to empower individuals with disabilities in achieving their employment goals. In this vital role, you will provide one‑on‑one support, training, and advocacy to help clients discover their strengths, build job readiness skills, and connect with meaningful, sustainable employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake assessments to identify each client’s unique skills, needs, and career aspirations.
  • Develop individualized employment plans with clear, achievable objectives.
  • Provide training in job search techniques, resume writing, interviewing, and networking.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers; advocate for client placement.
  • Support clients on the job site with accommodations, coaching, and skill‑building.
  • Offer ongoing encouragement and problem‑solving throughout the employment journey.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional or personal experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience with supported employment or vocational rehabilitation services preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of disability rights, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a Level II background screening.
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.; may involve standing, walking, bending, kneeling, driving, and computer‑based tasks.
