School Social Worker / Guidance Counselor

1099 Contract through Bright Bee

Location:

Democracy Prep Endurance High School — Bronx, NY

Schedule:

3 days/week, 8 hrs/day

Start: ASAP

End: 4/13/2026

Pay: $36.50/hr

You’re committed to helping students thrive academically and emotionally.

You hold a master’s in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (LMSW, MHC, or School Counseling Certificate required).

You communicate clearly and work well with students, families, and school staff.

You’re experienced in supporting teens through social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.

Provide short-term individual and group counseling for students facing social/emotional/behavioral barriers.

Support students at risk of academic struggles and help them build social skills, coping skills, and positive behaviors.

Partner with teachers and families on behavior plans and student support strategies.

Prior to working with students, you will need to pass a background check, livescan and may need to obtain other necessary testing/clearances. Rest assured, we will guide you through the process!

Please note, assignments may require the ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

Offer parent guidance and help families access long-term services when needed.

Deliver services required in student IEPs and collaborate closely with special education staff.

Conduct social/developmental assessments for special education referrals.

Help students navigate high-stress moments and stay successful in the classroom.
