More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.

Overview

CAMBA’s School-Based Early Support Program is a collaborative initiative with ACS designed to empower families and promote children's well‑being within the school environment. This program offers a range of services and supports directly accessible to families through partnerships with local schools.

955 Flatbush Ave, 4th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11226 — Hybrid/Remote

Responsibilities
  • Conduct outreach activities to engage families, including self‑referrals, and discuss program offerings and expectations, prioritizing referrals from partner schools and community‑based organizations.
  • Collaborate with referral sources to gain a comprehensive understanding of each family’s strengths, needs, and priorities, securing informed consent for information sharing.
  • Develop individualized support plans in partnership with families, based on comprehensive assessments.
  • Manage a caseload of 12 clients effectively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation (FASP reports, databases).
  • Prepare reports and participate in program evaluation.
  • Recommend case closure based on guidelines.
  • Participate in case conferences.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), or Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with families and children in a community setting.

Other Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey respect, compassion, and empathy to clients.
  • Exceptional writing skills for clear, concise, and professional documentation, reports, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of relevant databases and case management systems (a plus).
  • Commitment to cultural competency and anti‑oppressive practice.
  • Strong understanding of student support services, including IEPs, 504 plans, and SEL programs.
  • Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish or Haitian Creole.
  • Must obtain Department of Education fingerprint clearance (PETs) if working in an NYC Public School building.
  • If off‑site or school‑based, ability to maintain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance and fingerprint clearance throughout employment.
Compensation

$47,000-$52,000 annually.

Status

Full‑time (35 hours per week).
