Overview

TITLE: Outreach Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Youth Services Department, Beacon

LOCATION: 145 Stanton Street New York, NY 10002

PROGRAM: Beacon

REPORTS TO: Program Director

SALARY: $20 - $24 per hour, 20-25 hours a week

DATE: September 2025 – June 2026

SCHEDULE: Mon - Sat; scheduling may vary due to the needs of the program.

Job Summary

The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the Beacon Program Director to support the program with partnerships. The outreach coordinator is responsible for the following:

  • Bringing in partnerships to the Beacon program
  • Connecting the Lower East Side Community with programs at Beacon
  • Acting as a liaison between the Beacon program and outside organizations
  • Corresponding to emails and phone calls regarding partnerships
  • Organizing meetings and events, and seeking opportunities to increase the organization's presence
Education, Experience and Skills
  • High school diploma required;
    Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Two years or more experience in the field of youth development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to motivate others toward achieving goals
  • Ability to develop alliances with high-risk and difficult-to-engage youth and families
  • Knowledge of community resources and counseling practices with high-risk populations
  • Outstanding collaborative skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with the Beacon program team and community providers to conduct outreach and promote the program
  • Collaborate with hospitals, clinics and community service providers to engage families in community events
  • Create and maintain thorough written records of assessments, outreach efforts and required documentation
  • Work collaboratively with community resources to establish timely and effective referral processes
  • Lead parent workshops that promote the academic, social, and emotional development of both parents and students
  • Advocate for families when necessary in collaboration with community resources
  • Refer participants to a social worker for counseling to support crisis intervention and safety planning
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Beacon Program Director
