Intake Coordinator - FFT-Adaptations at The New York Foundling

The New York Foundling is seeking an Intake Coordinator to manage the initial intake process for families and ensure accurate, timely documentation and assessments.

Responsibilities
  • Screen ACS and community referrals for program appropriateness and maintain regular communication with key stakeholders for ongoing networking.
  • Coordinate outreach to referral sources and families, arranging joint home visits to assess interest and readiness.
  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and obtain consent forms to enable clinicians to make informed decisions.
  • Create, manage, and process cases in internal and external electronic systems efficiently to ensure timely access to services.
  • Provide support and guidance to families throughout the intake process to meet their needs and expectations.
  • Participate in weekly or bi‑weekly coaching sessions to review referrals, identify progress and barriers, and promote professional development.
  • Participate in team meetings and trainings to stay informed about child welfare best practices and improve service delivery.
  • Engage in outreach community events to enhance awareness of New York Foundling services.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Sociology.
  • A passion for serving children and families; prior experience in child welfare, social services, or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate case records.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse multidisciplinary team and client population.
  • Openness to feedback, flexibility with programmatic needs, and willingness to grow professionally.
  • Comfortable with traveling and visiting families in their homes.
  • Commitment to complying with the New York State Central Register of Abuse and Neglect protocol.
Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited institution or credential evaluation for a non‑U.S. institution.
