About the Bronx Green Jobs Center
The Bronx Green Jobs Center ( BGJC ) is a transformative collaboration led by Fordham University with the community to prepare individuals for careers in New York’s rapidly growing green economy. Our mission is to empower individuals from underserved communities — such as young adults and formerly incarcerated individuals — by providing the technical training, resources, and wraparound services necessary for them to pursue and launch sustainable careers.
Opening in early 2027 at 585 East Fordham Road, BGJC’s collaborative structure includes other institutions of higher education, K-12 schools, community-based organizations, and industry/employer partners. BGJC is designed to provide trainees from the community access to specialized career-ready microcredential programs in high-demand fields such as solar/PV panel install and repair, urban agriculture, electric vehicle (EV) charger installation, energy efficiency, and more.
In addition to technical training, participants will receive the “soft” and durable skill development necessary to help them compete in the modern workforce.
