- Work is performed in a combination of office and community-based settings.
- Some evening and weekend availability may be required for participant engagement, community events, and program activities.
Henry Street Settlement’s Workforce Development Center (WDC) helps New Yorkers find jobs, build skills, grow in their careers, and become more financially stable. WDC serves youth, adults, and families through employment, education, training, and supportive services. Our staff work closely with participants to understand their goals and challenges, connect them to helpful resources, and create practical plans that support employment, housing stability, increased income, and long-term success.
PositionSummary
Henry Street Settlement is seeking a Case Manager to provide participant-centered case management to individuals and families working toward greater housing stability, employment, increased income, and long-term self-sufficiency. The Case Manager will assess participant needs, develop individualized action plans, provide housing stabilization and career support, coordinate supportive services, and help participants access financial and community resources needed to address immediate barriers and achieve longer-term goals.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related health/social services discipline required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of case management experience serving individuals or families experiencing significant barriers, including housing instability, homelessness, mental health challenges, or substance use.
- Demonstrated experience with New York City housing navigation, supportive housing, homelessness prevention, or services for special-needs populations.
- Experience working with young adults and/or families experiencing housing instability is strongly preferred.
- Ability to assess immediate needs, develop individualized action plans, coordinate multiple services, and support participants through crisis and stabilization.
- Strong individual and group facilitation, engagement, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong documentation, case-record management, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of public benefits, community resources, workforce development, and housing-related services preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work occasional late shifts or adjust schedule as participant and program needs require.
- Knowledge of HUD/Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS), Section 8, or workforce development programs
- Experience with public benefits systems and employment services
- Strong documentation, data tracking, and compliance skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
