Certified Nursing Assistant

Recovery Technicians are the people our clients see most. You are on the floor of a 132-bed residential treatment program for women in recovery — including pregnant and parenting mothers who have their children with them — and you are there for the parts of recovery that do not happen in a therapy office.

The 6am wake-up. The hard afternoon. The 3am panic. The morning someone's kid needs breakfast and their mom is 11 days sober and holding on.

You are not a security guard and you are not a babysitter. You are the steady adult in the building, and this program does not work without you.

• Supervise and support clients through the daily structure of the program - wake-ups, meals, groups, chores, curfew, lights out
• Observe and document behavior, mood, and safety concerns, and escalat e
• Supervise and document client self-administration of medication
• Conduct room and safety checks, and manage searches and belongings per program policy
• De-escalate conflict, and respond to incidents calmly and honestly
• Support mothers with their children in the milieu — routines, boundaries, parenting practice
• Transport clients to appointments as needed
• Keep the environment clean, safe, and dignified
• Hand off clearly at shift change so the next person walks into a real picture, not a guess

• Someone who shows up. Reliability is the single most important quality in this job.
• Steady under pressure. Things happen here at 2am.
• Respectful about addiction and mental illness. Our clients are not their worst day.
• Willing to document. If it is not written down, it did not happen.

• Experience in residential treatment, substance use, group homes, assisted living, hospital, or corrections
• Personal or family recovery experience — many of our strongest staff have it
• Current CPR/BLS
• Crisis prevention or de-escalation training (CPI or equivalent)

No behavioral health experience? If you have worked direct care anywhere — a nursing home, a hospital, home health, a group home — the skills transfer and we train the rest.

All openings are available across days, evenings, overnights, and weekends. Tell us on your application which you want. We will work with your schedule where we can. This building has to be staffed around the clock, which means there is usually a shift that fits.

Who you would work with: a team of Recovery Technicians and Lead Recovery Technicians, our residential therapists and case managers, a nurse and an on-call APRN, and an Assistant Residential Manager who runs the floor. You are never the only person in the building, and there is always someone to call.
