SNAP Specialist

SNAP Specialist: a meaningful role helping families in Far Rockaway and the Five Towns.

We are hiring a case worker for a nutrition navigator program serving Far Rockaway and the Five Towns. You will guide community members through SNAP eligibility and applications and help families get the food support they qualify for. Part-time and full-time positions are available.

• Help community members apply for SNAP (food stamp) benefits
• Advocate for clients to receive and maintain their SNAP benefits
• Educate the community about SNAP eligibility and benefits
• Participate in community events and strengthen local partnerships
• Maintain a database of client information and outreach activities and complete reports as needed

SNAP Specialist: here is what you need to bring.

• Ability to work with diverse communities; multilingual preferred
• Able to work calmly in stressful situations
• A genuine commitment to helping people in need with sensitivity and care
• Organized, reliable, and comfortable with data entry
• No experience required; all training is provided

As a SNAP Specialist, you will earn $32 - $35 per hour and make a real difference in your community.
