Victims Counselor

Delaware Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a full-time Victims Counselor / Advocate to provide trauma-informed services to victims of crime, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. This role involves advocacy, accompaniment, education, and referrals, with a focus on empowering clients and supporting their safety and well-being.

• Provide trauma-informed advocacy services to victims of crime;
• Offer medical and legal advocacy, accompaniment, and support;
• Provide information and referrals to appropriate community services;
• Assist clients in navigating systems and accessing needed resources;
• Participate in outreach education and public speaking as needed;
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation;
• Follow program guidelines and agency policies;
• Perform related duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, gender studies, or a related field;
  and/or
• Four years of experience in human services or social work;
• Valid driver’s license;
• Ability to work independently with professionalism and integrity;
• Experience with outreach education and public speaking preferred;

• Full-time, weekends may be required
• 35 hours per week
