* Job Summary:

** We are seeking an exceptional Software Engineering Manager who combines deep technical expertise with strong people leadership to build and lead a team of engineers developing the next generation of invoice and payment automation solutions. You will be responsible for both writing code in the early stages of development on projects, and leading the team as it scales and matures, ensuring delivery of high-quality software while fostering a culture of cloud-native excellence, continuous improvement, and technical mentorship.

This role requires someone who thrives at the intersection of architecture, hands-on development, people management, and metrics-driven delivery.

* Supervisory Responsibilities:

*** Responsible for building, leading, and developing  software engineering teams consisting of both engineers and QA professionals
* Directly responsible for hiring, onboarding, performance management, mentoring, and professional development of team members
* Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development discussions
* Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on quality, innovation, and continuous learning

* Essential Functions:

Duties and Responsibilities
*** Build and lead a high-performing engineering team through recruiting, hiring, and developing top talent with cloud-native expertise
* Provide hands-on technical leadership by actively coding, especially during initial project phases before the team is fully staffed
* Design and implement cloud-native applications using .NET, Java, React, and AWS services (Lambda, ECS, EKS, SQS, SNS, RDS, S3, Cloud Watch)
* Architect scalable, maintainable solutions leveraging microservices, serverless architectures, and cloud-native design patterns where appropriate
* Collaborate with architects and the VP of Engineering on architectural decisions and technical strategy
* Oversee the execution of software development projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards
* Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) including velocity, deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, mean time to recovery, code quality metrics, and technical debt
* Implement and enforce best practices for cloud-native development, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines
* Drive the adoption of comprehensive testing strategies including unit tests, integration tests, and automated regression testing
* Champion Dev Sec Ops  practices, ensuring security is integrated throughout the development lifecycle
* Mentor team members on cloud-native development practices, AWS services, and modern software engineering techniques
* Partner with AI engineers to integrate artificial intelligence capabilities into applications including generative AI, LLMs, classification models, and OCR
