Job Description:

Seeking a Software Engineer with hands‑on experience in Zelle payment processing systems. The role involves enhancing real‑time payment workflows, supporting integration with Zelle endpoints, troubleshooting transaction failures, and ensuring compliance with US banking standards for peer‑to‑peer transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, configure, and support applications integrating with Zelle payment rails and real‑time messaging.
  • Troubleshoot production issues involving failed transfers, settlement delays, and transaction mismatches.
  • Work with internal payment APIs and external Zelle specifications for request/response handling.
  • Ensure compliance with NACHA, FFIEC, and US instant payment regulations.
  • Collaborate with payment operations, fraud/Risk teams, and core banking engineers to ensure secure and accurate transaction flows.
  • Support monitoring, logging, and alerting for real‑time Zelle flows using tools such as Splunk, App Dynamics, or Datadog.
Required Skills:
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience in payments or core banking systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with
    Zelle P2P payment processing
    , message formats, and integration protocols.
  • Strong background in backend development using
    Java, Python, or C#.
  • Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and real‑time event‑driven architectures.
  • Understanding of payment settlement, reconciliation, fraud checks, and customer authentication flows.
Preferred:
  • Experience working with ISO 20022, RTP, ACH, or Fed Now payment systems.
  • Familiarity with tokenized banking credentials and secure transaction models.
  • Knowledge of US financial compliance standards and bank authentication systems (KYC, OFAC, AML).
  • Strong debugging skills and experience supporting production environments (SRE mindset).
