Octus is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join our Application Development organization within Technology. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of 6‑8 software engineers focused on designing and building scalable, end‑to‑end software solutions. The products you and your team build provide a powerful range of data, analytics, intelligence, technology and reports for more than 30,000 leveraged finance and restructuring professionals working within the global credit markets.

• Oversee the successful delivery of new features and the maintenance of existing applications across a broad spectrum of technologies, including databases, backend, and frontend systems.
• Mentor and manage one or more large‑scale application development teams, demonstrating a track record of effective leadership.
• Lead the design and development of scalable enterprise‑scale APIs, ensuring they meet both functional and non‑functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and security.
• Utilize hands‑on experience to design, build, and support customer‑facing enterprise‑grade applications.
• Participate in business and technical design reviews, and work with the product and commercial stakeholders to ensure that we are allocating engineering resources appropriately.
• Manage distributed teams effectively, fostering collaboration and ensuring efficient project execution.
• Provide technical leadership by guiding the team in applying design patterns and adhering to SOLID engineering principles, promoting reusability, modularity, scalability, durability, and fault‑tolerant architecture.
• Manage senior stakeholders, resolve conflicting priorities, and provide visibility on established priorities, scope, resource allocation, and project timelines.
• Partner with technology leadership team members to ensure service reliability through rigorous testing and release procedures.
• Develop standards and procedures to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
• Ensure compliance with security and firm‑wide architecture standards.

• At least 3+ years of leadership experience, managing and mentoring engineering teams.
• At least 10+ years of experience with Python, C#, PHP, Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL, VueJS, Angular, React, Elasticsearch or equivalent technologies.
• At least 3+ years of experience with AWS/GCP/Azure, Apache Kafka, Terraform, Docker, and other technologies.
• Strong understanding of technical design patterns such as SOLID engineering principles.
• Extensive experience in the release of enterprise‑grade applications.
• Experience with Django and Laravel is a plus.
• Proven experience in data modeling and database design, with proficiency in SQL and No

• Thrive in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality and scalable solutions.
• Experience with software development life cycle including tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Git Hub, etc.

At Octus, we consider a range of factors in connection with compensation decisions, including experience, skills, location, and our business needs and limitations. The salary range estimate for this position is $165,000 - $190,000.
