Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, Golf Now, Golf Pass, and Sports Engine. The well‑capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure‑play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content.

The spin‑off is expected to be completed during 2025.

We are seeking a self‑starting, high‑agency Software Engineer to lead the development of innovative new systems and solutions making use of a rapidly changing landscape of emerging technologies, especially AI.

This is a special role on a team focused on proving the value of new tech and bringing it to production quickly in the form of enterprise‑grade platforms and applications. We are seeking a candidate well versed in software engineering, and interested enough in generative AI to have built with it in a professional or personal setting.

• Develop front‑end prototypes rapidly for new proofs of concept, ensuring high usability and adherence to design specifications.
• Maintain and enhance backend systems including Azure infrastructure, Python, relational and non‑relational databases, to facilitate efficient API integration and occasional deployment of basic full‑stack applications.
• Integrate cutting‑edge AI technologies into internal applications to facilitate the automation of rote work, add productivity to NBCU employees, and drive new ways of working and adding value for our customers.
• Uphold high standards of code quality through rigorous testing, adherence to code standards, and common sense testing.
• Develop automated tests for your code, ensuring every function, service, and object is compatible with your team’s work and with the many systems, devices, and browsers used within the NBCUniversal system portfolio.
• Create documentation for developers as well as business users to help them understand our products.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team within a matrixed organization, leveraging strong interpersonal skills to navigate system complexities and deploy solutions efficiently.
• Deploy to cloud‑based platforms and troubleshoot application, cloud, and configuration issues when necessary.
• Utilize AI tools and agents for code & test generation to dramatically accelerate the delivery of features and components you create.

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, demonstrated through a comprehensive portfolio and related experience.
• Proven capability to bring a basic application from idea to delivery without requiring support from others.
• Expertise in modern JavaScript and Python and Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Expert in at least two modern front‑end or backend web frameworks (React + FastAPI or similar preferred)
